
The face of investing is changing. Gone are the days when purely market and risk-adjusted returns ruled investment performance. A new 1.5 credit finance elective course at Stern, aptly named “Investing in Environmental and Social Impact,” explores impact investing, the emerging investment strategy that integrates philanthropy, finance and public policy to create both financial and social return. The course is taught by Steve Godeke, principal of Godeke Consulting, and an investment advisor and expert to foundations, corporations and non-profit organizations that seek to integrate their financial and philanthropic goals. Despite his busy schedule, Professor Godeke was gracious enough to share his insight and vision for the future of impact investing.
